What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides essential funding for eligible individuals with disabilities, enabling them to enhance their quality of life and gain greater independence.  NIDS Official Website

Holistic Futures is registered to provide a range of services under the NDIS across Australia. With the NDIS, participants can enjoy:

  • Increased Time with Family and Friends: The NDIS supports individuals in fostering meaningful connections within their communities.
  • Greater independently: By providing access to vital services, the NDIS helps individuals live more autonomously.
  • Skill Development: Participants can access new skills, job opportunities, and volunteer options, promoting personal growth and community engagement.
  • Improved Quality of Life: With tailored support, individuals can experience a more fulfilling life

What does an NDIS plan look like?

Every NDIS plan is tailored to the individual, reflecting your unique needs, lifestyle, and personal goals. The NDIA works with you to understand the type of support you require, so your plan is designed to suit your situation.

Your plan is typically reviewed each year to ensure you’re receiving the right supports. If your circumstances change, you can also request a review sooner.

How NDIS funding works
Your NDIS plan outlines how much funding you have, the support categories available to you, and what each budget is designed to cover. At Holistic Futures, we can walk you through your plan and help you understand how to make the most of your funding.

NDIS plans are divided into three main support budgets:

Core Supports budget: covers everyday assistance, such as daily activities, community participation, and transport.

Capacity Building Supports budget: focuses on helping you build skills, increase independence, and work towards your personal goals.

Capital Supports budget: funds one-off purchases like assistive technology, home modifications, and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). This budget is allocated for specific items and must be used as outlined in your plan.
